The HKD is issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority in banknote values of $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1,000. Minted Coin values of HKD are 10¢, 20¢, 50¢, $1, $2, $5, and $10. The $10 banknote is the only note at this time that is both printed on paper as well as Polymer.

In 2012 the Hong Kong Monetary Authority has said they are planning a complete re-issue of all HKD in circulation.
